Gianni Baggi, in art Otr, I was born in Pavia in 1946. 

A professional photographer, I have lived and worked in Milan. 

Since the 1970s, I have worked as a photographer in the field of advertising, starting with a long and constructive collaboration with Olivetti in Ivrea. Still as a freelancer, I carried out numerous photographic campaigns for large advertising agencies, collaborating with major multinational companies and with architects. 

In parallel I have always nurtured my artistic photographic research. 

In 2005, I completely detached myself from the profession of professional photographer in order to redirect the purpose of my work exclusively to that of artistic research. 

Otr: it is with this sound of a mantra gone mad that I chose to give a name to my poetic self, distancing myself from a professional past that is now almost an alter ego far removed from me. I now live in Tuscany in my home-studio surrounded by nature where I dedicate myself to aesthetic research made up of a continuous interplay between interiority and exteriority.
