ART IS HUMAN EXPRESSION

I work between contemporary art and photography, creating works that combine mixed techniques, primarily photography, painting and sculpture. I like to define myself as a visual composer. In other words, as one who not only ‘creates’ images, but also tunes them into each other like the notes on a sheet of music.
I wish to be a free spirit in art as well, transforming images into visions.
For some time now I have been creating a double archive of images that works, or rather, that work uninterruptedly together. The first archive is definitely the photographic one that deals with the selected images, the real photos. The second is the oneiric one, that of moods and secret thoughts that combine with the images of the first archive for defining and presenting my works.
I compose stand-alone images, photographic shots on which I also superimpose my pictorial features that I photograph and assemble. The final work is printed on fine art paper in a single edition accompanied by a certificate of guarantee.
While studying art history, I wanted to focus on the artistic period of the last century, and I was fascinated not so much by the techniques and style of each artist, but rather, by the set of values they represented, values on which even today our culture is still surviving.
I am a contemporary artist, but my feelings and emotions are the same as those experienced by various artists like Picasso, Chagall, Dali, Bacon, Man Ray, Penn etc. In other words, I love surrealism, having been fortunate enough to get to know Arturo Schwarz in Milan in the 1970s.
