Metamorphosis of a photographer

I don’t think it is that important to know
what it was,
why it happened,
which path I’ve followed and by which criteria I’ve pursued photography.
The surprising fact is that after all these years of work and dedication to photography, taking photos still really amuses me.
Amusement being the pleasure I feel in transforming images into pictures.
But not only, even changing images into objects becomes a good reason for me to research.
These changes in thought take me back to my younger days when: “I wanted to become an artist.”
Now I'm restarting on that line.
The metamorphosis is happening.
I have used the pseudonym Otr to completely detach myself from a professional past, made up of creative research aimed solely towards consumeristic purposes.
Otr has no meaning whatsoever, it is only a sound that resembles a crazy mantra that supports me in this new adventure.

Contemporary Art and Photography

are important elements of my existence.Visual and aesthetic research are not my only guides to the “artistic work”.
The true author of my wrong conceptual path is my emotional continuous check
becoming obsessive.Surely, it is about a rigorous self-analysis,
through which I explore and recognize some peculiarities of my difficult character.
Art is welcome as a self-analysis mean, or vice versa.“Wrong Conceptual Path”
corresponds, from my point of view, to the recognition thatI belong to
a human samsaric existence that produces again and again, in whirs, continuously and consequently the same regressive actions.
In addition, the contaminations we practise and suffer In every field are prolific in a natural way. Our predecessors’ previous lives, our rebirths have always absorbed and widened every experience of the sum of the human knowledge,
from science to music, from literature to art…
Going back to art, I believe that we are going on playing
like unconscious kids on a ground that only in part belongs to us,
on which we overlap previous emotions to our current lives
producing beautiful and/or ugly art works which will infect the next generations.
And so on.
